i bought a 03a3 at a gun show a few years ago because it was alot cheaper than all of the others i had been looking at. i wanted a "shooter," and not a "collector." it has a santa fe marked receiver. does anyone know anything about this company?

the story i got from the dealer was that it was a commercial firm that was making up it own receivers, and using gi parts to make up the rest of the rifles. it does have a gi barrel on it with a flaming bomb near the front sight. i'm not sure what other marking it has-i haven't looked at it in a while.

it is a nice looking rifle, and it shoots very well. i was just curious about the receiver. thanks.

Never herd of a commercial 03A3 receiver rifle named Satan Fe before. There was a company that called their cast receivers National Ordnance. They did what you are explaining. They took US GI parts and built rifles off of their receivers. These weapons are hundreds of $$'s cheaper than real Springfields. Never heard of one blowing up just that they are crude looking. Sometimes having prosity pits on the surface of the receivers. I've seen 2 or 3 of the Nat. Ord. rifles but never observed pitts.
