Guys- what is the deal here, I ordered like 500 rounds this morning with my Mauser, and now I am hearing that it is not godd for teh Yugo Mauser? What is not good about it? Can it be used for plinker ammo? Let me know what I need to do with this!
Thanks

No problem. The Yugo Mausers were regulated for use with the heavier 196gr or there abouts bullet. The Turk 8mm is around 154gr. It may therefore shoot high I believe due to the lighter bullet weight but it is not unsafe.

Turk ammo shoots high in a Yugo and Yugo ammo shoots high in a Turk. Here's a decent explaination in this thread:

Recoil will probably be harder with the Turk that stuff is Hot! See the thread about "This is Hot Stuff". It runs about 3,000 fps or more! The Yugo ammo or Ecuadorian is about 2600 fps. You should have gotten some of the Romanian from Interordnance. It's the lighter bullet but it's not as frigging hot as the Turk. Recoil is milder according to a bud of mine that's shot quite a bit of it. It's also the newest surplus on the market having been made in the 1970's.

What's the muzzle velocity on the Romainan? What is a safe handload that'll get 2900+ FPS?
