I have a M1 Garand with a springfield receiver. Serial #2682851 with a barrel date of SA 6 44. I looked up the receiver and it was manufactured in feb. 1944. Could this be the original barrel for the receiver? Would it be common for the barrel to be about 4 months newer than the receiver? Pease help. Thanks, Mike
