Any of you guys have one of these? Like it?

They're neat, but a bit expensive. They can require liberal use of the dry graphite lube to run reliably.

I have one. Works great, but very heavy when full. Around the $500 mark for one I think.

I bought one from ruben 3 years ago for 389.00 and it works great.....now they are up to 499.00. but what real gets me is that you cannot buy any parts from BETA CO...I don't know when that changed, but not too long ago you could buy the feed towers, and other parts that where not resticted to gov't, police and military. Now on their web site it says NO PARTS TO BE SOLD TO CIVILIANS. I wrote a e-mail to them asking why. but haven't heard from them yet.

I am actually glad you re-upped this thread, sabotage. With the 1994 magazine ban sunsetting in just over a year, hopefully the Beta mags will come down to reason. They sell new to Uniformed Civilians for $239!!!! Law enforcement people forget that they are nothing more than uniformed civilians. Somewhere in the past, they were given powers above the law....wait, that was Clinton that made them special in 1994 by allowing uniformed civilians to own high capacity magazines and non-uniformed civilians could not.

I am waiting until the ban dies next year, then I will see about getting one of those cool looking Betas.

At the last gunshow I went to about 2 weeks ago there was one at the show selling for $890.

The ban needs to sunset!

I bought one through CDNN a while back also for $389.

It fell about three feet off of a counter loaded and broke in half on the carpet.

Beta Co. Repaired it for me for about $100 :(

Now I just treat it as a range toy. The LE ones look like they're reinforced more on the bottom where mine busted but I still think if they fall on their side loaded they'd snap.

I've also seen a pile of busted CMAGs that someone tried to run through an M249...think there were 8 or nine of them with shredded feed lips.

FWIW....mine has always functioned 100% when it was intact.

Probably should sell it now while the prices are high:(

I would NEVER trust my life to a cmag. Think I have some pics of it broken on my home pc.

If I owned one and it broke in half I don't know what I would do.

Probably go insane.

I was too shocked to be angry....just sort of stood there and stared in disbelief at my $400 *used by LE and Military* plastic paperweight.

I would have sold the replacement but I'm just keeping it for investment purposes now. It sits in the safe and only comes out as a conversation piece and for an MG shoot once in a while.

Apparently I;m not the only one this has happened to either.

VT, That'd shock the hell out of me also. Sorry to hear that. My friend has one & he is always very careful with it. Now i know why.

It would be nice to see the prices on these to come back down. Right now they are priced way over their amount of value for me. Even though I'd still probably grab one as a collectable. I'd rather be able to get a couple that I could use.

GRAPHITE?! I thought graphite and AR's were a BAD combo.

Before 9/11 you could buy Beta's for 300.00 all day long. Since that infamous day our country was attacked, they have skyrocketed. Last show I saw one priced for 900.00! They are fun and perform well. They are a little akward at the benchrest. Bi-pod helps there. Hopefully after the ban sunsets, prices will come down.

I'm gonna be sick. Wow, thats a terrible thing. I am seriously considering putting some kind of dense foam/duct tape on mine to prevent this kind of thing. Makes you appreciate Chinese AK drums. Easy to load, spring tension when you want, and good ole' stamped steel! VTDefender, we feel your pain.

Was at a gun show the other day. Some guy had 2 betas for sale. One marked LEO had a price of $239, the one without those 3 letters was marked $699!

VTDefender, those are the saddest photos I have seen in a long time. The pain!

I have a 120 round drum for my ar, but I do not know the manufacture. I got a pre-ban bushie, the drum, bayo, two 30's a 40 and a factory 30 and case for the low price of 1000.00 I was pretty happy about the purchase.
