Check this out! What do you think the outcome of this lesson plan in the classroom? Another media outlet pushing gun control or an attempt to sway kids when their young?

This actually seemed objective on the debate. My boy had a "mock" election in his class. He said most all were voting for Gore. He asked me at home who'd I would vote for, and I told him Bush, and why. When they were asked in class to state their position, he spoke effectivly about our freedoms and their values. After his talk, 1/2 the class voted for Bush..... I liked that.

Awesome job (both to you and to your son)!

Viacom is Nickelodeon's parent company, here is a list of Nick's sister companies. (Also a good source on media ownership in general.)

Viacom is a big fat media monster, BTW.

Yeah, we had a mock election thing at my school, too, and, most voted for gore. Though, I am showing people free-thinking is the way to be, through examples, logic, and intellect.

I'm a high schooler from Missouri, one day we discussed in civics class the amendments, when we reached the second amendment the teacher asked who supported the second amendment. I was one of three who openly supported the second amendment. The teacher also asked why is there need for automatic weapons and things of that nature I defended my beliefs and then decided that it was worthless to argue with a class who had been brought up in ignorance and antigun beliefs. So I decided they could all just goose-step in stupidity. The liberal pigs of my state have also put up anti gun messages in the malls. These messages are like tobacco or alcohol companies aimed at teens like me, but these advertisments are worse than tobacco or alcohol companies these messages kill you brain and your freedom. I also find it ironic that cops are also looking for "less lethal weapons" soon the cops are not going to have guns but the criminals will.

I have a co-worker that is from Europe and he will stand there all day and say that no civillian should ever have a firearm. No amount of discussing it with him would make him think other wise. The funny thing is he likes guns and he likes to rent them to shoot and he likes mechanical things and would like to own one! What the hell?!? He has been so thoroughly indoctinated that he cannot get past it to actually own one. He also has air pistols that look like the real thing! He kills me!
He also thinks its crazy to ever think anything bad could ever happen here. He thinks Americans are paranoid about their freedoms and that we have nothing to worry about. The funny thing is the guy has led a cherished life at the best schools and never had to live in a so-so neighborhood or even seen a crime take place. You can tell his socialist doctrine is deep because he believes all cops should not carry weapons unless its a special swat team or something like that.

I think the material and lesson plan itself is clearly objective. I think it will all depend on the teacher's personal views as well as the parents that will determine which side of the issue gets emphasized . If they have one of those spinless jellyfish type liberal teachers, then all is lost:confused: . BUT, if we get a person who actually concurrs with the facts with the issue, and explains the scourse of the anti's stats, then hope is alive. :D
