I am a Curio and Relic licensee and about a year I received a letter and some forms from the BATF. The purpose was for me to report anyone who purchased two or more handguns from me in a one month period. I just got my yearly bonus and would like to buy two P-38s from Chris at F.G.S. Inc.

What does the BATF do with the information they collect if I buy two pistols? Should I not do it but save the money and buy one each month? It really sucks to think that if I buy two pistols in a one month period that some government agency is going to think I'm a crook.

Thanks.

That's if you DISPOSE of two handguns in one month, not if you PURCHASE two handguns in one month.

Oh I re read, I see your point. Yes, FFL's are required to report 'multiple' handgun sales. I wouldn't worry about it, they already know who you are being a licensee.

If you are a C&R FFL holder, are buying more than one P-38(presumably C&R status guns),YOU ARE NOT SUBJECT TO THE MULTISALE FORM.

As a C&R if you buy NON C&R handguns THEN you would be subject to the form.

Great!! Thanks... They are C & R guns. I'm not sure what the multi-gun restriction is for any way. I guess it doesn't make sense to me since if you want to be bad with a gun it only takes one. I guess it might keep you from becoming a "supplier", but if you do, they have your name (and your butt) if you don't do right.

Thanks again all.

1. If I purchase from a FFL its one gun a month no matter what, It I get purchases through a supplier like Century as many as I want. Go figure?

I agree I would not worry about it. they already know what you have and how many you have already.I'm not being paranoid but it's true.

Not totally true in my case. I buy alot from private individuals so there's no record. Been doing that since I started buying guns and long before I got my C&R license. :D
