C'mon everyone, let them hear from you! Please remember to keep it civil so you don't play into the lable that HCI tries to stick us with.

Mrs. Sposato,

I just read a press release where your corporation was lauded for severing ties with "an extremist organization out of step with mainstream America". I am a husband, a father, a professional law enforcement officer, and one of 80 million gun owners in the United States. I am many things, but I am not an extremist, I am the NRA.

I am also a customer of yours, as are / were many of the aforementioned 80 million. After seeing how your corporation feels about me and anyone else who might feel strongly about preserving a constitutional right, I think I will find another source to do my taxes or do them myself.

I am the NRA and I vote. I vote at the polls for candidates who will work to preserve my rights, and against candidates that seek to restrict and re-interpret the Constitution. I vote with my dollars by refusing to reward corporations who align themselves with those who are working to limit my freedoms, and by doing business with those who stand behind and defend the freedoms out country was founded on.

As a representative of H&R Block, I assume you have some basic knowledge of accounting. Having said that, I regret to inform you that I have had to move your company to the debit column in my ledger, for I can no longer give you credit for sharing my love of freedom. I trust that this is not the first e-mail you have received concerning this recent shift in your corporate principals, and I hope that you will forward our sentiments to a person with authority to re-think this decision. Until such a time, I bid you adieu

HR Block doesn't do just taxes anymore; they now offer services in financial planning, mortgages, and investments, as well as selling the Kiplinger Taxcut software.

Mention these; companies hate seeing their brand names rejected, e.g. "My wife and I have been wanting to start an IRA and had been considering HR Block financial services, etc., etc.", or "We've been looking into consolidating our loans and were considering HR Block's mortgage services, but etc. etc.."

Also, didn't HR Block use to be a sister company of Allstate and others under the Sears Financial group? I'm sure that's not the case anymore, but it would be interesting to see who owns Block, who they own, etc. The most I could get out of Block's SEC filing was that Berkshire Hathaway (Warren Buffett's company) owns a big chunk. The BH website lists a ton of its subsidiaries but HR Block's not on the list. It be interesting to find out; after all what's the cc: option there for on email clients? ;)
