This is not a thread about flamming merchants for shipping charges.

I ordered a crate of ammo 780 rds of the romanian 8mm this week. The ammo was $39 and the shipping was $20.

What I want to know is: Which of the company's who carries surplus ammo has the best shipping rates for shipping to the upper texas gulf coast? Those of you in this part of TX or LA, Who do you use?

The more I can cut from ammo shipping charges, the more cool C&R rifles I can buy :cool:

Century doesn't charge shipping. The prices quoted for ammo are shipped. I always buy ammo from Century unless it is not available. Their recent supplies have been piss poor though. I usually wait for their monthly special, they'll almost always put some caliber up on sale.

Here's an example-
Century 1000 rounds 7.62 x 39 $85.00 (shipped).

Centerfire Systems- 1000 rounds 7.62 x 39 $79.99!
shipping= $19.50
Total cost= 99.49. :(

Sometimes you'll see century 7.62 x 39 go down as far as $75 shipped.

That still wasnt a bad deal on the Romanian ammo, that's supposed to be an accurate load and its less hot than the Turk and it's newer too.
