I am thinking about buying a springfield 1903a3 with serial number 3906450. Is this one a ww 2? Need help please. MIKe:confused: :confused: :confused:

The Model 1903A3 Short Rifle was approved in May 1942. The first ones were assembled in Oct 1942 by Smith & Corona. Remington got into the game in December 1942. The exception is the 850 1903A3 rifles made by Springfield Armory. These were made in 1956 and would be quite rare IMO. So to answer your question, unless your 1903A3 is a Springfield it is a WWII firearm.

Sorry, I meant Remington 1903A3,Barrel 5-43 with the flaming bomb. serial no. 3906450. Is this serial number correct or same year as barrel? Need help please.Thanks Mike

Great site. All my US rifles serial numbers check out. I could not find anything to verify my Inland M1 Carbine.
