Unissued M1 Carbine..price?

A guy I work with has a M1 carbine he is going to sell. What is it worth? He has also a Colt AR-15 A2 unissued, never fired still in the box he bought 27 years ago. what are they worth? Thanks in advance.

I'd like some more info on that carbine....What manufacturer,GI issue?ect.....Maybe I'll make an offer on it.

That's kind of like asking "What's a old chevy worth?"

These are the basics of what you need to be looking for:

1. Reciever manufacturer. Look behind/under rear site.

2. Serial number range.

3. Barrel manufacturer and date (if dated, not all have date marks).

4. Overall condition of the finish on the metal.

5. Condition of wood.

6. Any markings on the wood, especially on the right side of the buttstock.

7. Is it import marked.

Has the A2 been in production for 27 years? I don't think so.
