Here is the reply I got from H&R Block. Sounds like time for a little K-Mart/Service Merchandising:
===========================================
Thank you for sharing your views with us. We have taken the matter very seriously.
H&R Block offers its products and services equally to all taxpayers. The company does not take a stand on social issues outside the realm of tax and financial services.
This tax season H&R Block entered an agreement with a marketing company to expand our ability to market our tax products and services. A number of organizations interpreted this agreement in a way that had H&R Block taking a particular side of a social issue - something our company does not do.
Therefore, we are ending the agreement to remove ourselves from a debate we don't belong in and to prevent any outside group from using H&R Block to promote their agenda.
H&R Block's sole focus remains on helping all Americans with their tax and financial needs.
Thank you for your e-mail.

I think they need to come out and say that either there for or against gun owners, they are acting like K-Mart on the matter and staying silent, looks like I'll be doing my own taxes from now on !
"Guns don't kill people,people kill people" !

People,
I'm a little confused by this. I didn't see the original post that the H&R Block letter was a reply to, but I don't know that they are pro-gun. I had my taxes done by them because of an ad in American Rifleman that said that for every new customer they got from the NRA, they would make a donation to the NRA. Does that sound anti-gun?

These people at help.org used the world trade center disaster to exploit there real intent , to disarm americans. they have a list of all the anti-gun supporters that back them , but haven't been able to excess to site since they collected millions of dollars from caring people and then disappeared with the money ! they are the scum of the earth.
Anyway H & R Blocks are Independently owned and operated businesses in most states. this was a isolated blunder I think on the original posters part and I followed suite. sorry if it was misleading .
Sincerly

Mississippi Rifleman,
This was all over the media about 6 weeks ago? H&R Block dumped the NRA and caved into the anti's because the NRA was labled as an extremist organization. H&R decided they didn't need the controversy and stopped the donation program. If they changed their tune since then I haven't heard.

they should'nt say one thing and do another ! anyway is this the main headquaters or a spin off franchise ? I see that they were confronted with it and so far have not replied or have I missed it ! I won't deal with them and way. They take advantage of good people that are in need of money ! they are the vultures as is the IRS. waiting to pounce on your wallet.

This is a thread from farther down the list that points to the article. It is my understanding that H&R Bloack as an corporate entity stopped making donations because the NRA was labled an extremist organization by anti's. They caved to the pressure because the liberal elitist medai got a hold of it and it was showing up on the 6 PM news in middle America. I can't really blame them since some of us have been waging an e-mail campaign against the anti gun companies.
It might do most companies well just to stay out of politics all together in the end.
It still sucks that a pro gun company had to cave though.
