View Full Version : Sistema here!
My Sistema Colt Model 1927 arrived today! Arsenal refinished in VG condition, It's a 1947 production army issue. Finish is black phosphate or park, it looks great, No scratches or dings or rust. Markings are clear and sharp. The JLD import marks are very small and right behind the mag release. All numbers match except mag. The lanyard loop is bent slightly forward, no biggie. I was able to field strip, I didn't completely strip it yet. The barrel and bushing have a tight fit, the bore is mirror and has no pitting, rifling looks to be in good shape. Lugs look good, and both safeties working. This doesn't look like a 55 year old pistol! I 'll take it out shooting tommorrow, keeping my fingers crossed!

Sounds great, who'd you get it from? CDNN?
I may have to pick one of these up before they're gone for good.
Got it from JLD, $312 shipped. They got a shipment in 03/12/02. I have heard that they also got 50 Hartford Colts and probably would never get any more. As for how many Sistemas are still available, I don't know. But I've been waiting since begining of January for this one. EDIT: I saw quite a few posts on 1911 boards about poorer quality Sistemas from some other wholesalers, smashed sights, rough finish, bad barrels and bushings, etc.. JLD is the importer so I bought from them to raise my chances of getting a good one.

How did you find out the info on when your Sistema was built and for who? I just got mine yesterday and haven't had time to look it over much, but my first impression is "WOW".
Thanks

Wow! That's awesome, Punk. Sounds like you hit the jackpot with that one. Let us know how she shoots! :D
I got the date of production from a web site and a post over on 1911forums.com, sorry,I didn't bookmark the exact location or I'd post the chart. Look in the very bottom catagory over there, I think its called "other models" or something, look for Sistema posts........ Hartfords were like $400 from JLD, Sounds like if you want one of those you better get it now, if your not already to late....... Sistemas' also say Colt on the side. A nice little bonus, I didn't think it would. It says "SIST. COLT. CAL. 11.25mm. MOD. 1927" No little horsey :D though it does have a Argentina coat of arms....... Working on a range report.

Are the Hartfords considered Sistema's??
Somebody told me they were even though they were actually manufactured in the US for Argentine forces....I've heard 10,000 and under are Hartfords which would appear fairly correct...Mine's under #2680.....
Has the Hartford Colt address,no Sistema anywhere.....

Here's a couple other good sites with info...

Okay guys...I figured out what's up with mine....It's a Commercial frame with Hartford Slide made for the Argentine Federals.....The frame is 1933...any suggestions on how to find out when the slide was made???
Glad to hear it Punk. I also got the replacement for the one that I had to return to JLD. This one has lasted past working the slide a few times. Real test will come this weekend when I take it out to run a hundred rounds through it (if the weather cooperates).
