First let me say, I took along my Russian M44 and fired it for the first time today, all I can say is HOLY SHIT, that's the first time I've seen a fireball from a muzzle in broad daylight:eek: Ok, the Sistema worked perfectly, sort of, I put about 100 rnds of Speer Lawman 230 grain TMJ thru it and had no problems whatsoever. I also put one mag of Winchester 185 grain Silvertip HP thru it and it worked perfectly again. What I mean by "sort of" is, I had no jams, misfeeds or fail to fires, it's just that the empty case ejection was acting odd. The third rnd I fired the spent case landed right on top of the pistol. I had my buddy fire it while I watched and the spent casings were going directly forward 4 feet, to the right side 5 feet, directly over the top of his head rearwards, forward angling to the left, I had one I fired land in my front shirt pocket:eek: What the hell is the deal with this? Need a new ejector maybe? Another problem before I even fired was the original mag, Put loaded mag in the pistol, let the slide go, slide slams home, mag drops out of pistol. Tried a couple more times, same deal. So I shitcanned the original mag, its number doesn’t match the rest of the pistol anyway so I don’t really care, and used the new in wrap USGI mags I bought, problem solved. So other than needing to look into this ejection problem, I couldn’t be happier! As for accuracy, well I am getting better at pistol shooting, but I still need to work on it, Here is a scan of a target from one mag I semi-rapid fired (as fast as I could get back on target), Using 230gr, TMJ, standing at 10 yards, all seven in the 8” black. I know this pistol is capable of better groups than I can shoot. I think I’ve got a good pistol here!

Thanks for the report....I finally got a chance today to put my Hartford through the paces with the new barrel...Unfortuanately I need a different sized link, kept jamming rearward after firing..Real hard to push the takedown lever out or in.
Definite improvement in accuracy even with the old bushing.

Here's a mix of shots(some fairly rapid) from a Ruger P95DC(9mm)
and the Hartford.....From 7 yards, this is one dead intruder even though I'm not the best with a pistol.

I don't think you'll need to shoot the intruder that many times, after the first 7 rnds of .45acp, the 9mm is probably overkill. :D Did you ever say what year your Hartford was? I tell you what, I love shooting pistols. It's a lot harder to be accurate than it looks! I need to get some reactive targets, maybe get some steel plate targets made up. I made a rack to hold clay birds but made the mistake of leaving it at the range, and it was turned into toothpicks next time I went out there. Sometimes I blow up balloons and staple them to the backstop. There is a small bowling alley here in town, I've been meaning to stop in and see if they got any old pins to throw out that I can have. Shooting at stuff that breaks or moves is a lot more fun than punching holes in paper.

LOL....Yeah that's an idea...I've never shot reactive targets yet...Only been a paper puncher....Damn burglars where have you been?? ;)

I had a link to a site that listed the serials and when they were made...Anybody got it????

Punk,
Mine groups like yours, just about 6" higher and a little to the left.
