Hello all-
Perhaps this is a poor question... but why would putting a tele stock on my Bushy XM15 be "evil?" I don't think it would reduce the length of the rifle below 26" or anything.
Alternately, could I put a tele stock on that was pinned/fixed in the closed position? Would that be OK?

Hello J. Dock-
I think I'll answer my own question.
Sure, it's perfectly legal to put a pinned *closed* stock on your XM15! I wish I'd though of that.
Apparently that telescoping stock is illegal as it falls into the category of "folding or telescoping" stocks, so if it moves, it's bad and evil.
As far as I know, there's really no minimum length a stock has to be, so it would appear that your idea about the pinned-short stock is legit.
Anyone care to argue against it?

I would assume that the powers that be felt that folding/telescoping stocks would make the weapon easier to conceal in your black trenchcoat.
It is illegal simply because it LOOKS Evil.
The same reason flash hiders are illegal and those evil pistol grips.

I don't have a black trench coat, guess I'll have to get one to go with the rifle.

I ordered a rock river arms with a standard stock that has been shortened. They call it tactical entry. I guess so it fits while wearing body armor. My wife is small of stature so I got it for her. I will get or make a slip on extender for me (or buy another one). Of course, a telescoping stock makes the most sense. But why mix logic with unconsitutional gun-laws?

The same government logic that banned folding stocks also had bayonet lugs removed. When was the last time you heard of a drive by bayonetting? Who voted for these people?

If it's permantly pinned or welded in place (extended) then it's legal. Get the fixed tele-stock from Bushmaster.

I pinned mine in place to the length that fits best. I obey because *they* say it's for my own good...keeps me from being evil or something.

Because that's what the 94 AW ban is all about....Only one "evil" feature per detachable mag customer

As long as overall length remains 26" or longer you can fix it "permanantly" in whatever position you like.
