Ok guys!

I don't know how old this is, but if Walmart caves there will be fewer places to pick up that last minute ammo or cleaning kit.

GUN-GRABBERS ARE PRESSURING WAL-MART
Though just recently Wal-Mart indicated to us that they were not
considering dropping their line of firearms and ammo,
it seems that the gun-grabbers are still bringing down a lot of
pressure on the organization to do so. Wal-Mart
is currently keeping score of the opinions of their customers
concerning their firearm sales policy. Apparently, Wal-Mart is more
than willing to resist the anti-gun forces; but they would like to
have some documented support from their shoppers and law- abiding
firearm owners.

You can register your opinion with them by calling their Customer
Service Relations Department at 1-800-925-6278. Voice your opposition
to this anti-gun pressure now. Be sure to give them your name and
address for their record of
pro-gun customers. You can also voice your opinion via e-mail. Their
website is www.walmart.com. Click on the Customer Service icon, fill in
the appropriate blanks, select the category "Questions about
Wal-Mart", and send a short message supporting their sales policy on
firearms and ammo.

We must be as persistent as the anti's are when it comes to speaking
up for our rights. If we don't do it, we lose! It's that
simple. All Wal-Mart needs is a sizeable response from caring gun
owners to give them the ammo they need to stand tough against our foes.
We can help them do that, can't we?

Please pass this information on to other sportsmen and pro-gun people.

I just got off the phone with Wal-Mart.

I gave them my name and address and told the the customer service rep that I understood Wal-Mart was under pressure from anti-gun lobbies to drop their line of firearms and ammunition, that I appreciated their stocking of these items and that I would patronize a different establishment if they dropped these items from their inventory.

The rep thanked me for my input and assured me that Wal-Mart had decided to continue carrying firearms.

Thanks again for the info.

Wal Mart does not carry guns in most of their stores in the Northern area of Illinois.

Sorry to hear that Walmart doesn't stock guns in your area.
I wonder if it's the policy of the regional Walmart management or because of local laws or pressure by anti gun groups?
Here, in North Carolina, they carry a pretty good selection of rifles, shotguns, ammo and accessories. I ran out of 7.62 x 39 once at the range and ran over to the nearest Walmart and got more.
I hope they don't give up on us. Anytime any business gives in to the anti gun pressure, we are one step closer to losing the fight.

Hmm, I've never had a problem with finding guns and ammo in Wal-Marts in the DuPage County area. Are you referring to northern Illinois as DeKalb and Rockford area?

Most of the ones I've been to have got decent prices. Not good, not bad. Once in awhile, they'll discount something with a red tag sale. Of course, they only carry "sporting" firearms - bolt actions, shotguns, .22s, etc. *shrug* But, hey.

Mousepad, I'd like to know exactly what is wrong with a "sporting" firearm. I personally own two "sporting" firearms. I'm not crazy about semi-auto's. My idea is "bolt action.....one shot one kill". It's only my idea, but I think there is nothing wrong with these so called "sporting" firearms. We're all supposed to be in the same boat here, supporting the right to keep and bear arms, not just certain types of arms or certain brand names. I would have to say it's the extremists like you who appear to want only so called "assult rifles" who make the anti-gunner's think we're all whacked out people who are waiting for armegedon (spelling?). The anti's do hate the "evil" rifles more, but if they're trying to crack down on even the sale of a halfway PC rifle such as a shotgun or bolt action rifle......your semi-auto's will be next, I promise.

We must pressure Wal Mart to continue to carry firearms, no matter what type of firearm they carry.

My first firearm purchase was a bolt action 22 magnum from wally mart. I love the gun, it's deadly accurate, and I'd love to know exactly WTF is wrong with buying an affordable gun?!?!?! Does a gun have to be expensive and semi-auto to be "good enough"? Well if that's the case, then I'll probably never be good enough because I can't afford an AK.

I had an experience with Wal Mart last night. I needed some cleaning supplies, and went to my local Wal Mart to get them. I was unable to find any gun-related products anywhere. I am used to not seeing guns in Wal Marts, as none of the Cook County IL Wal Marts sell guns. They all, or so I thought, do sell cleaning products and ammo. I went up to the older gentleman behind the counter, and asked if they sold cleaning products. He replied with this comment:"No, we don't sell any firearm related products because of our proximety to the school." He pointed over his shoulder as he said this, and then continued:"But we do sell 12 inch hunting knives." I appreciated his scarcasticly true commentary on the matter. He understood, and made me less angry about it, but nevertheless . . .

Conclusion: Firearm cleaning products are dangerous when in proximety to schools, and I increasingly feel like I'm living in the PRK.

Geeze, how fucking stupid can people GET?!

Well, me and my friend went to a Wal-Mart a few days ago, to get some .22 ammunition for his rifle, and the only problem we had getting it, is that there was nobody around for like an hour to give us service. ;)

sounds like my local walmart.Ours sells rifles and shotguns still but no handguns.Walmart also has better prices on ammo too than do the gunstores (except in .45 acp:mad: ).Having people behind the counter that knew something about guns would also help.I once had the guy hand me a box of .223's when I clearly asked for a brick of .22 long rifle. How do you make that mistake?

Hey, thats an idea. I think i should work at Walmart this summer as a part time. I'll work the damn firearms counter and at least i'll have a clue on how to help people out.

.223 for .22 lr? That's pretty bad....

We have a Super Wal-Mart that carries Winchester 7.62x39... Although I've never heard of them making this ammunition! :)
