I've been reading up on the Turk and the Yugo, but I haven't run across anything that would lead me to the reason why the Turk is so much cheaper than all the others. Is it more plentiful? Bigger POS?

I'm looking to buy my first C&R and I can't decide between the Finn M39, Yugo M48, Enfield MkIV, but if the Turk is a decent rifle I'll get a Turk because it's so much cheaper.

Thanks for your input.

If you talk $40 dollar turks they are a bigger piece of sh#t! In most cases the bores will be really bad and the stocks are really skanky. Now if you pay the $70 for the VG condition Turks they aren't bad. Usually these will have 90+ % bluing, new or near new stocks (all though they will be rough) and bright new bores in most cases.

The rest of the rifles you list are all fine weapons and you need them in your collection in the best conditions available for best long term value increase and enjoyment right now.

Thanks Schuetz'

I kinda figured. You get what you pay for. I think my first will be the M39 B Barrel from WGA. Thanks again for the input.

I don't think you will be dissappointed with the "B" mine was in like new condition@$159.99 from WGA.

The ease of changing windage by simple using the two screws on each side of the front sight, make zeroing a breeze.

Wouldn't say the Turk is a POS. They shoot very good for the price.:)

the turk i have is a pos. the bore is real good though. i have to JB weld the front sight back on. and the head space is not good, but i'm going to test fire it anyway. the stock was cracked all to almost hell, i super glued it, hope it holds.

OMG, JES be careful!

You really should wrap the stock in duct tape before any attempt to fire it. That should fix it...

Seriously,

I like Turk Mausers. My $60 specials from Century were like new.
