well the pic are not that good (used the work camera).it's sanded and stained (red oak) . I think I'm going to use tru-oil on it to fill in the cracks and dings. I steamed most of them out but you can still see a few of them.
this weapon is not for the beginner!!! at least the stock is not. ive been working on this think for a wile not and it still not even close to finish.
the metal cleaned up really nice.I just need to wait for my order to come through from brownells and I can start bluing.

I think it going to turn out ok. I'm kind of anal on stuff like this.:D
when I finish this I think it just going back in the box and sit in my closet.this is going to be a big project indeed.
after this I have 2 sks's to do:D :D :D this should be FUN...

Well I can't see the pics. From my viewpoint it say's attachment and a link next to it. When I click on the link it says I dont have access. I prefer the red boxes to that BS!!

Frankly W2K I find the pics of the restored stocks pleasing. It reminds me of distressed or antiqued furniture. In other words the remaining dings give it character and don't look bad to my eyes at all. I think you should just finish it up and leave em. Shows some history, sort of the marks of been there done it, if you follow me.:cool:

the only thing I'm going to do to the stock is tru-oil it.give it a good seal and that's it.what do you think of this idea?
on the metal I'm going to blue the whole thing. it just does not look good just half blued.
