Buyer Beware.

Jonathan Arthur Ciener is the worst possible company to try and do business with. On December 20th 2001 I mailed a Money Order for $302.10 to this company that so much good has been written about to order an AK47/S Conversion kit. After waiting till the end of January with no response I called and was told, by a very nice lady, that they had been back ordered and that mine would ship in a week or two. On March 26th I call and get the most irate, biggest jerk I have ever spoken to, who proceeds to inform me that he is the head man and there is still a back order and he doesn't know when if ever he will fill my order. I said that I would like a refund and this jerk proceeds to give me a lesson in American business and about how all his people are off sick or have family problems. I was very nice and never lost control or raised my voice the way he did. He then said if I wanted a refund he was going to keep 25%. I ask him if he didn't think that was wrong and he started another lesson in business. I then said he must have been talking to a lot of irate customers for him to have been able to develop such a wonderful customer service attitude. Anyone out there had any luck getting a refund from deadbeat companies in Florida? If this company was ever really any good, it AIN"T now.

Another word for this is mail (if payment was via US mail) or wire (if payment was via a telephone line) fraud. I would not accept 75% of my money back. Instead I would send a letter to the appropriate State and Federal attorneys general/postal authority asking them to look into it and send him a copy.

The only "problem" I've had with JAC is that they didn't say that the AK conversion kit would be a while in the making.

When I called to inquire about it,I was told it would be a while.I was also told that I could have my UNCASHED check returned and could cancel my order if I wanted to.

I ordered my kit in July and received it about two weeks ago.

If you ordered it,it will come.

I don't know about the 25% fee,but that seems exessive if you are cancelling the order,as opposed to a 25% restocking fee on returned merchandise.

From my experience, what ever JAC produces is a good product and he will deliver. It may just take a while.

I would suggest using a check when buying from him as he didn't cash mine until he was ready to send out my kit, therefore he didn't tie up my money.

I could have cancelled my order or stopped the payment on the check with no loss on my part.

JAC seems to be a precision guy and a bit quirky too.

I talked to one of his employees about why he doesn't take credit cards and was told that he is somewhat "old fashioned" and doesn't believe in using them and doesn't want to deal with the hassles associated with them.

The only advice I can give is wait and the kit will arrive.

Just tell him you will see him at Knob Creek in April, and you will beat his ass if you dont' get a full refund ;)
You could take him, he is a bit on the scrawny side, just watch out for that mini gun he has!

Your 100% correct – DO NOT (I repeat) DO NOT DUE BUSINESS WITH CIENER. Back in February I called them about ordering an AR15 22lr. Conversion kit. Was told that kits were available and to make the process faster mail down a postal check as not to have to wait 2 weeks for a personal check to clear. I even mailed the check that day. The end of February came and was wondering what happened to my order so I called Ciener. I spoke to some nasty B?!CH (YES B?!CH), who told me that they are on backorder and doesn’t know when it will be shipped. I explained to her kindly that the day a mailed the check they where is stock and asked her what happened. I then heard a dial tone, the B?!CH hung up on me. I then called backed and had it explained to me that I’m waist my time calling… when they fell like getting to it, they will. It’s now 03/31/02, still no conversion kit.
