if it is true pre-ban (the weapon was made into a complete gun, prior to sept 94) then yes, you can put a collapsable stock on it. as for putting a bayo lug on it....why? it will cost you more then it's worth, buying another front site, and another gas tube, then paying a gunsmith to install it....I mean in reality, are you going to put a bayonet on it? probably not, so why spend the money for a little piece of metal to hang down from the front site?

I was just wondering about the bay. lug looks more millitary,I have a AR-15 A2 sporter II that I got in the mid '80's and it has all the "ugly" features on it. would it be a bad thing to install coll. stock?

Bad? Not really - just a personal preference.

The telestock is lighter than a standard buttstock and will probably shift the balance point of your rifle forward, as it's intended to counterbalance the lightweight 16" carbine barrel or the M4 14.5" barrel and not a standard or heavy 20" barrel.

If you really want a bayonet lug, bushmaster sells a clamp-on bayonet lug replacement that secures with allen-head screws and would be legal for installation on your sporter target preban barrel without changing out the FSB.
