For the M - 44 and a good place to order it from ?
Also , what's the , in terms of condition , the best m - 44 out there ? Polish , Romainian , Russian , Hungarian ? What about the laminated ones ? ( I don't know their country of origin )
TIA , Blackbore:D
I prefer the Czechoslovakian stuff with the Silver painted tip. It comes in a light blue box. I get it at Gun Shows.

The polish are usually regarded as the nicest finished of the M-44's. Some have reported that the soft point 7.62x54r is quite accuarate.

Either Czech silver tip or Hungarian are nice. Norinco use to make some pretty accurate 54R, I still have some.
Some Romanian or Bulgarian is coming in a month or so. Should have two weights, 148 gr. light ball and 180 gr. with a yellow tip. I think it's going to be brass cased.
On M44's, yes the Polish ones are really nice or were really nice. For about 2 years a bunch of perfectly new never issued M44's were on the market. I'm still kicking myself for not getting 2 of them, one to shoot and one to leave in the mummy wrap. :(
The in the wrap Russians vary in quality but I've seen some really nice ones, perfect bores, matching numbers, 100% bluing, etc. So for the most part now trying to get one of these is the best wasy to go IMO.
I reload with Lapua brass and 123 gr bullet. Very mild recoil. The steel case stuff does not extract upon firing. People think I shoot a muzzle loader Chicom Mosin when I throw the cleaning rod down the muzzle.

I think this is just a general flaw in the Mosin Bolt guns...bad extraction overall

gets my vote. Brass cased, soft tip, lower muzzle flash, but damned high dollar. I shoot the cheap-assed corrosive stuff for blasting purposes, but that S&B is a hard hitting, very accurate round in my unique 91/59.

EXTRA is good, but not out of the short-barreled M44. S&B is a great choice, and I've shot plenties of it. However, the Norma seems to perform the best -- big surprise, eh? I found a couple of dusty boxes of it sitting at a local gunshop and haggled to $20 per box...
Be seeing you.
