She's in the process of freshening up right now, but I'll post some pics later. :D

Whoever put this rifle up did it right; my SAR has been dirtier after only a couple of mags. The trigger area is a little gritty, but other than that, remarkably clean.

Made in 1944. Bright bore, sharp grooves. The stock is beat to hell but at the same time has a good look to it. The rifle's in excellent working shape otherwise and complete.

I'll post some pics once I get it back together.

Did you purchase the shooter or select grade?

Shooter grade.

But the only bad thing about the rifle is the condition of the stock.

I had several shooters to pick from, and I took the best looking bore and action of the three even though my rifle did not have the best looking stock.

The bore looked dirty, but it cleaned up quickly -- as fast if not faster than my modern rifles -- to a bright and sharp condition. It looks good.

The trigger is awesome -- I wish that I had a car as well engineered and built as this trigger -- but cleaning the grit out of the assembly was a pill.

Other than that, the rifle was complete -- including the muzzle cap and soldier tag -- and matching. :) Overall, I'm pleased. I'll probably get the select grade at some point.

I wanted to shoot it today, but the rains came.

Yeah I have a shooter grade to, the butstocks are terrible. (all those years standing guard duty have taken their toll)

IMO the K31 is kinda funny looking but it is built like a swiss watch ;). They are great rifles!

Yeah, I'm really looking forward to taking it out! The sweet trigger/floating barrel combination is begging to be shot.

But, uh, I'm looking at that 7.5 cartridge and that steel buttplate, and I'm not sure that's going to be doing my shoulder any good.

:D
