It is legal to put muzzle brake or comp on if you tack weld it. The pin on the front sight is a bitch to get out on some rifles. Whop the hell out of it if this doesn't work you will have to drill it out. Been there done this, made a replacement pin out of a nail. When you remove the muzzle brake retaining pin if it is not notched you will have to file a notch in it to clear the front sight pin. After notching it drop in a spring from a ball point pen insert pin and a smaller pin in the front sight and check for clearence. It should push in and slide out freely but be retained from coming out all the way.. Screw on m/b and check that it goes into slot cut on m/b for it. Remove smaller pin from front sight and drive tight fitting one in. tack weld reblue and your done.

Hello-

I am wondering, is it legal to take the muzzle nut off of an NHM-91 and weld on a recoil compensator? If so, how do you go about getting the retainer pin out of the front sight assembly. It is not on a spring of any type. I was told by someone that you have to take out the forward pin in the front sight to get the muzzle nut retainer out. This sound right but for the life of me I cannot seem to get the pin in the sight to budge. Thanks in advance.
