Kinda.

You are not required to do the competition, but you still have to belong to an approved shooting org. Most state orgs count IIRC.

Basic Eligibility Requirements are:

You must be a current member of a CMP-affiliated gun club or state association;
A U.S. citizen aged 18 or older;
Satisfy CMP criteria for marksmanship participation within the past five years (this requirement is waived for law-enforcement officers, military personnel, veterans and certain others;
Not prohibited by federal, state, or local law from purchasing or possessing a rifle.

Zouave is correct on the honorable. No Big Chicken Dinners or 6x6 and a kick allowed.;)

I just filled out my ap for another Dane and a Mossberg M44. Wife said go for it. Maybe they'll throw that 1903A3 I orderd in the box with them. My family is Danish on my mother's side so I'm doing my hereditary duty don't ya know.:D

Bad Conduct Discharge= Big Chicken Dinner
6x6 and a kick = OTH, Other Than Honorable or Misconduct
