I finally received my solid Walnut Mak 90 pistol grip stock today from Wes at Soupbowl Enterprises. It took a little longer to get here than I expected but Wes had called to explain the slight delay and I don't mind waiting for quality. It cost me $90. plus $7. shipping.
I put the stock on with no problems. I was extra careful to not "bully" the upper handguard onto the gas piston tube as I've had cheap Chinese upper handguards break on me doing that. The firearm looks absolutley superb!
2 things deserve mentioning.
First, I was concerned the pistol grip might be too small or skinny but was pleasantly surprised to find it was meaty and wider than the cheap plastic ones sold. I can really grip the pistol grip nicely. Secondly, Wes put a metal plate on the end of the buttstock with the little hole and hinged door so I can store my cleaning kit there just like the original. The fit is great, the finish superb, I'd recommend his stocks to anyone.
