I know little to nothing about rifles, and I just bought my first ak type rifle. I live in california and thought i better by one before the damn politicians outlaw them all, so I looked around for a while and things are pretty expensive out here.I was looking around many stores for a Norinco mac90 which is what I was told was a descent riffle for a fair price. All the used ones were going for $650+. The new ones were $800. These prices were the same almost everywhere. i found a little store that said they had a NHM90 for $550 brand new. I thinked I jumped on it a little too soon considering I know nothing about rifles. But it sounded good so I got it now.Im stilll not sure if it actually is a NHM90. The thumholestock is a type of orange, compared to the brown wood on the front. The guy who sold it said that the rifle had to have been put on a thumhole in order to be shipped in. Also the thumhole shape looks different then the picture on the manual. The engraving on the left side reads...M006772...Made in China by Norinco...CSI/ONT/CA...7.62mmx39... Can anyone verify the type of riffle I have. Any help is greatly appreciated. Also I noticed prices on guns are alot cheaper through the internet. Ayone have any problems with riffles bought through classifieds or auctions because im thinking of tring that route since it cheaper. Once again thanks for the help

Hello Bert,
You might want to make a trip over to Vegas next week and attend the SOF show.

A couple of us will be attending and you would be more than welcome to join us!

You have a great rifle that will never let you down. The price you paid is a little high but you got what you wanted and needed.

OUT in Vegas!

There should be NHM-90 stamped on the receiver. The barrel is threaded under the piece of pipe that they call a barrel nut.
There were 3 types of NHM-90's chambered in 7.62x39mm and .223 imported. One is the standard receiver type square back(7.62),folding stock receiver slant back with cut out that has a cover over the holes on each side of the receiver(7.62)and standard receiver chambered for .223.
