I "think" I remember that some of the early MAK90's that were imported utilized stamped FA receivers (rivets in the sear hole). Does anyone know what importer brought these in and how were they marked? Just an itch of curiosity that needs scratching. Pax.. Rev. Joel

Saw one recently.Importer was GLNIC LA CA. Marked Norinco MAK-90.Is the auto-sear hole already drilled? There was an extra pin that the safety bottomed out on, in the "D" position.

There were some Maadi's that came into the country a few years ago that had the third hole with a rivet through it. The distributors were scrambling to recall all of them, I think Ekie told me that he had one. Regards.

One, well actually it was more like five three hole Maadi rifles. The ATF wrote me a nice letter about them, and I sent them all back to the importer for exchange.

Yes, in '92 or '93 a shipment of Norinco stamped rifles came in that were originally select fire models that had been sporterized to meet Bushes '89 import ban restrictions. They had a rivet through the trip hole. As soon as the ATF noticed this, they confiscated all the rifles under their "once a machine gun, always a machine gun" bullshit. My father bought one from a store in Birmingham, AL that had the underfold stock welded in the folded position. About 3 weeks after the purchase an ATF agent called and said he was coming after it. The store did refund the $185 he paid for it.
