When I recieved my K-31's they came shipped with the bolts removed from the action. So, is it o.k. to have the bolts installed when the gun is in a gun case or will this cause damage to the rifle? Are they shipped this way because it is considered safer for the courier or does it prevent the rifle from being damaged in shipment?
Thanks,
Speedfish

Hello , Speedfish:) Some of the K-31's that I received from AIM came with the bolts removed , also.
Some also came with the bolts in place , also. Go figure:eek:
I notice that a lot of bolt guns I receive that have the bolt in place end up with the bolt poking out of the shipping box , but none ever did this from AIM , who do a wonderful job of packing their guns for shipment.

I think they do that so it doesnt poke through the box.
However US Post requires it for some reason like they think we'll send a loaded rifle with the bolt engaged or something
I wish Century would do that. I'd say 80% of the rifles I get from them have had the bolt handle poke through the box.
While I'm griping, I wish Wholesale Guns and Ammo would stop using the popcorn. I always make a huge mess frantically taking my rifle out of one of their boxes. Plus a piece always gets stuck in the muzzle :D

Well Speedfish I'd concure with the earlier posts, it's mostly to stop putting a bolt handle hole in the shipping container. Safety is not an ussue when the rifle has the bolt in, provided you didn't leave a loaded round in the chamber.

Thanks, for your responses, it puts my mind at ease. I was worried that I would cause some damage to my rifles by putting them in the cases with the bolts installed.
Thanks again,
Speedfish

Ditto, If the rifle is not well packaged the bolt will eventually break through the outside of the box.;)
