1. Just finished this one with one more to go. I lemon oiled the grime off and then used a grunge pad to knock down any old flaking finish. I used Tung oil and Minwax oil rub to finish it and then three coats of PasteWax.
1945 Turk 38.

I like it. I like it. My Turk is Walnut. What type of wood is that? It looks reddish but I don't know if that is due to the tung oil or not.

1. The original wood is blonde. The original finish was a dark reddish varnish. The tung oil darkened it up a bit, but what you see is the original. This is the first time I've tried to clean without stripping. Actually I like this way a lot better. Leaves the character of the gun intact.;)
