I have questions regarding the following: Just ordered a 75rd drum from RPB. Are those any good? Is $125 a little high or normal these days? They also advertise a fixed Krink-style aluminum stock. Has anyone seen this up close? Are those any good? Looked cool onthe picture... Last thing: Can 5.45 mags be modified/used in .223 rifles?

Unfortunately, $125 shipped is normal these days.

I saw a couple of those at a show recently. They look real nice, too nice for an SAR:) you'll have to finish the rifle so it'll look as good as the stock!!!

I am sure someone somewhere has modified 5.45 mags to use .223, that question may be better posted in another forum. $125 is good, seeing that some places are charging as high as $180. I posted about RPB last month and someone on the forum said they ordered a 75 round drum from them and they gave him a discount, you may want to search the review forum for RPB industries. There customer service is excellent, if everyone in the gun industry had customer service like theres....well it would be a land of RPB and red star arms:D . Have you already ordered? The 75 round drum they sell is a polytech instead of the regular chinese (heard they are built better, dunno though), they do fit other AK's not just polytechs from what I have heard also. Good luck on your purchase and let us know how it goes.

Conversion of 5.45 mags to .223 is a relatively common topic oon the Romanian forum 'cause folks need mags for their SAR-3's. Involves opening up the feed lips on the mag and either raising the back of the follower with epoxy putty or replacing the follower with a Robinson Arms .223 follower. With the stock 5.45 follower, mag will jam if loaded with more than 20 rounds. Note that Robinson Arms follower is US-made and may be of assistance in dealing with parts-count issues.

Here's a couple pics of my Romanian AK-74 types with the FSE stocks on 'em. They're great!

Just got my 75-rd can from RPB. Took them something like 3 weeks to get it to me, but hey, they threw in a free 30rd mag.
The politech drum fits my Norinco AK, and should fit the rest of them, too. Made of what seems like tough sheet steel and looks way cool.

Where do you get those FSE stocks?
Sorry RPB?
New to AK scene.
Thanks,
QD
How do you tell a Poly Tech drum from other Chinese drums?
