Does anyoneknow where I can get a parts kits that will enable me to legally use regular ak47 mags in my 10 rnd romanian sporter.

By the time you spend the money on US parts and then paying a gunsmith to cut on the reciever so it fits a regular mag you should just sell it to an idiot and buy the SAR-1.

Sell...a gun.... I don't follow you. http://www.ak-47.net/akcgi/wink.gif
I too have a 10-rnd sporter. I too would like to legally alter it to take full-cap mags. If I goober up the gun and spend way too much money messing with it..... it still won't be the dumbest thing I ever did. Being stupid is OK in Klinton's America.
(I figure that I could always 1. Swap out the mutilated trunnion block. 2. use it as a parts kit. 3. have the coolest paper weight in the office)

Sell the thing, you can get at least what you paid for it, then buy a Romanian SAR-1 for around four hundred.

Hey I never claimed to be the smartest AK owner on this board.
Two questions:
Where can I buy the romanian sar 1 for $400 and
what if I try to weld two mags together? I wonder where I would get that dimension spring?

Those ten round mags you got cost a fortune and not to mention I have heard of horror stories of people buyig them and yet they won't feed in their rifles- no wonder they are BATF approved. Seriously though sell it on www.gunsamerica.com (http://www.gunsamerica.com) and buy an SAR-1 from SOG of Ohio or a couple other places. It's basically the same as what you have except it takes in-expensive hi-caps and has a pistol grip for around 400.00.

You won't believe it!!! I had one of those 10 rounders, but sold it to my friend for $200 and got a Maadi. Well he was jealous, so he got $225 of trade off for a Hi-cap Maadi. I was in that store today...
They are selling that ROMANIAN 10 round AK for $395.99!!! All I did to it is put a different Thumbhole(a chineese $16, from Tapco) and AK74 muzzle brake using JB weld.
$35 dollar investment, over all price increase, WAY UP. I paid for it brand new, $280. SELL IT, ANY AK IS EASY TO SELL

Ok. Back to the original question- does anyone know of a parts kit that will allow the use of regular mag?
No, there is no parts kit that will allow you to modify your ten rounder to accept normal AK mags legaly.
Why don't you just keep the rifle that you have and start saving up for another AK that takes normal hi cap mags.
The rifle that you bought is a fine gun and I would love to have any of the new guns. I have never bought a Post-Ban because I was lucky to take an intrest in AKs when the only ones that you could buy we're what is now called Pre-Bans and I did not pay more than $250.00 NIB for each of them.
Take care and be happy with what you have.
OUT in Vegas!
