Don't be angry with me for linking to another C & R forum:D

I thought this was important , though:eek:

Even with the failure of 1 lug , you still have one or two additional lugs and finally the bolt handle itself acting as a kind of lug on most bolt actions , before the bolt blows backwards , possibly ripping through your bicep and shoulder (don't laugh . this actually happened to someone who had a .50 BMG go off out of battery (the bolt wasn't closed shut all the way) The person lived , but was seriously injured and had to get a lot of physical therapy)

You gunsmiths correct me on this if I'm wrong:cool:

Interesting thread, thanks for posting it. Surprising but then again in the millions of Mausers out there one is bound to fail for a flaw or bad heat treat. Just goes to show us that we should inspect what we buy and not take for granted that it's all perfect when we get it.

Bottom line is "Shit Happens"!

Heck if I was that guy I'd buy a good condition from Century, use the bolt and the rest of the good rifle for parts.

Interesting thread thanks

When you're scared , don't be afraid ! LOL Seriously , though , when I finally get a chance to go to the range and touch off a few rounds with my M-48A's , I'm not really gonna be nervous.
In all honesty , I'll be more nervous with my new M1A. They have a few KA-BOOMS on their track record

If anybody's interested , I'll link to the Ka-boom article:D
