I have been sifting through all this pre-ban/post-ban nonsense and have a question I hope one of you can answer. I have an SA-93. I purchased it prior to Sep 14, 1994. I know it is not a 1989 pre-ban, but it is a 1994 pre-ban. Let's say, in theory, I installed a U.S. made parts kit (less than 10 items thing), folding stock, pistol grip, and flash suppressor on this weapon prior to Sep 14, 1994. From what I understand, the 2 evil things law did not come into effect until Sep 14, 1994. I also believe the 1989 law prohibited us from installing the evil parts unless the weapon had less than 10 imported parts. Please clarify this for me. It would be nice to have a loop-hole. Choctaw.

The 89 law had no 10 parts rule it only applied to imported rifles. The 94 law made a loop hole for converting post 89 import to domestic mfg. A folding stock and flash suppressor is illegal on a post 89 imported rifle no matter how many US parts it has. If the parts were installed before 94 it is illegal under the 89 ban and the 94 ban also.
