hey guys, the yugo came from aim on friday. it is an m48 not a m48a. the blueing is 99%, the wood is 90% a few handling marks. it is beautiful. the problem is the bore. i scrubbed it for over an hour. the rifling is very sharp, but is pitted all the way. i paid the extra 10.00 for the handpick. they said it would be like new. should i send this back? i think i am going to, but wanted to ask the experts first.
i got 2 new toys @ the harrisburg show on sat. will post pics tonite. check back. thanks!

I am no expert, but I would send it back. The M48 that I got from AIM had a mirror bore with absolutely no pitting anywhere and I didn't pay for hand pick.

Yeah, that's too bad. Call them and arrange a replacement. If they said "like new" the bore should not be pitted.

From first hand experience(look under AIM Section),
I would send it back.

What you got there is both good and bad.THe M48 has milled parts and is general more money than the M48A with stamped parts. Now the bad it has a crap ass rusted bore.Thats simply unacceptable because this rifle was advertised as very good-excellent and you opted for hand pick.Send it back now.Tell Aim to eat the shipping back to them and back to you. They did so on the crappy SKS I got from them a few months back.Have them make it right and pay shipping. It was their mistake.

Bad bore= automatic return.
I never pay a handpick fee, all they do is look at the outer appearance. Usually if a batch of rifles is in VG or better, the chances are you'll get a good one without the handslect fee.

I don't pay for hand pick either.
Either way, most every rifle I ever bought had a barrel full of cosmoline. The only way to check the bore is to clean it first.

HMMMMM.... I don't think Chris does what he is paid to do....I also paid for a handpick(CHRIS) which wasn't worth the extra money....My suggestion is to ask for Eric...Everybody says he does them right.....

eric picked it the first time. i talked to chris when i called to return it. if this ones crappy, they will get it back and no more business from me. if i pay the handpick i want it. dont jerk me off, thats all i ask, just be honest. if they said all they had were good i wouldnt be upset because i would know what i was getting. keeping my fingers crossed!

most of the hand picked guns are the best out of 5 or 10 .I'v hand picked mine out of 2 skids of them but most where in ex. shape.they do try hard but can't look all day.97% of them are in the same shape but a bad one sneaks in . it may look good on the out side, but untill you clean the bores you don't know. I know them (aim) well and if it is'nt as advertised they will replace it.

Sorry dudes, we do make mistakes from time to time. Just send it back, we will take care of you, I promise! If you don't like Chris ask for me, if you don't like me ask for Chris, if you don't like either of us and your single ask for Linda.
Thanks guys,
Erik
