1. This toy just came in today. I am really impressed with it. The thing is beautiful shiny bore and metal. The stock has one arsenal repair at the butt but it was done really professionally. All matching numbers on receriver and bolt and floorplate
2. Redstar you need to order one of these. A must for your collection.
Is that in 7.65 caliber? I have one with a 30-06 barrel and is cheaper to shoot.

Partisan is making 7.65x53 ammo again, Empire Arms has it and also Springfield Sporters had some MILSURP if they are not sold out. Just bought a 1909 longrifle for my collection so have to start looking as well.

Hmmmm. Thanks for the links on ammo guys.
My local dealer has a few in his store, I'll have to check his prices a little closer. He's got one from Chile in .30 06 as well.

I want one, I love mausers with full length stocks. Where can I get one and how much?

I bought an Argentine 1909 Mauser from Sears in the mid 70's. It was sporterized and rechambered to 30-06.
That was the most well built Mauser and had the smoothest action of any I have owned.
I am impressed with DWM and 1909 Argentine Mausers!
I too bought mine from Sear in the 70's in 30-06 for about $50. It was imported by Interarms in Alexandria, Virginia. I still have the little booklet supplied. Below was my first and last attempt in gunsmithing. New stock, scope mounts and turn down bolt.

Skip, that's nice. I just left the "hacked" walnut military stock on mine. A local gunsmith had the receiver hardened, as he said the 06 pressures required it. You might want to check your headspace. Better yet, you may ought to flat out rebarrel it, as the 7.65 bore (they only reamed the chamber out) is slightly larger than the 7.62 bullets fired from a 30-06, and accuracy suffers.
Although mine claimed a couple of South Texas Bucks with a nice Leopold 4X mounted on it!
Yes, I remember that Interarms booklet, and also recall a $50 or $60 price tag on it. I had to put mine on layaway, as I was sacking groceries at the time for $1.65/hour, and it was my first rifle purchase!:)

My barrel is marked 30-06. The primers back out a little bit but there is no gas leakage but it may caused by the terrible bolt face. It imprints on the fired primer. I don't know if it's headspace or the reloads are too light. I just haven't had any problems at all.

Backing out primers is a precursor to "blown out" primers and you better get her rebarreled soon, as your headspace is getting probably worse and worse, and you could have a face of hot gas anytime soon.
The problem is not with the gun itself, as it was tempered for the 7.65 Argentine pressures. The problem was that Interarms transformed it into the hottest military 30 cal they could find without hardening the metal in the receiver ring/lug recesses to handle the additional recoil impact.
If you get it rebarreled in something like 7mm Mauser (cool choice - accurate round), you may never have to harden the receiver, but do yourself and your dependants a favor and have it done if you rebarrel to 30-06 again, or God forbid - a magnum round.
Thanks for the Warning. Advice is no good if it is not given.
