Can I legally put a pistol grip on a MAK 90? Do I have to substitute some parts with US made parts in order to do so?

Yes you can, and yes you do.

For a MAK-90, I think you need to replace six parts to bring it under the 10 part import law.

You will most likely need to replace your hammer, trigger, and disconnector with US manufactured equivalents. That takes care of three of the six parts you need to replace. You can then install a US made stock, pistol grip, and upper/lower hand-guards. That takes care of the other three parts. BOOM! You have a legal POSTBAN with traditional furniture.

SoupBowl Ent. makes nice wood kits, and there are several other companies that make synthetic kits. Ace Ltd. offers a skeleton stock kit that gives you a side-folder look alike.

That side folder look alike can also be folder transformed into a fixed with a few parts that Ace sells. You can have the best of both worlds.
