thumbhole stocks and 30 round magazines

I looked up the law on 30 round clips, and if an ak doesn't have the pistol grip, it's ok. If that is true, can you just add a sporter stock and use 30 round clips?

That law applies to all the guns imported from '89 to '96. I think the new ones have to do things different. Of course older guns, those made before '89, can have both. Now, if you put a US parts kit on a '89 to '96 gun you can have both too. Confused yet? We have **way** too many laws!
