Ok I emailed Wes at Soup Bowl and he says that my rifle is not allowed to have a threaded muzzle even with his parts kits to make it legal.
Now I have a letter from BATF that says that my rifle which has a Threaded barrel and thumbstock is considered a Semi-automatic Assault rifle according the 1994 BAN but it also states that rifles that meet the definitions of a semi automatic assualt rifle possessed prior to the enactment of the ban are exempt from this prohibition.

Question 1:
So if I was to install the USA Parts kit on my rifle. Would my rifle still be legal if it still has the threaded barrel?

Question 2:
Since my rifle meet the definitions of a Semi-automatic Assualt rifle prior to the BAN can I install a USA made foling stock on it?

Votes anyone? I need you input on this.

Here is more info on what I have...they are both Nocinco MAK90 in 223 caliber. They both originally came with a Thumbhole stock and a threaded barrel that had a removable cap on the threads. They were both aquired in March and May of 1994 (before the BAN)

Hmmm, it seems that you wouldn't need the soup bowl kit for you weapon at all. If you are accurate as to the dates which you aquired these weapons, neither of them was produced or imported after 9-13-94 (the day that midnight basketball saved society). I don't claim to be an authority on the subject, but I thought that rifles produced prior to the ban could have bayonet lugs, flash hiders, ect. I have an AR-15 which I rushed to get assembled prior to the magic date so that it would be a "legal" pre-ban. It has a telescopic stock, bayonet lug, and flash suppressor installed, but was apparently manufactured after the AKs mentioned above. What's the deal? Were there different rules for imported rifles, or is my AR-15 really not a pre-ban? Why would Norinco install thumbhole stocks on pre-ban rifles?

Disregard the previous post, I found the answers in another string.
