1. Just bought two 91/24 UFIXEMS from Century. One is complete as far as I can tell. The second is missing a front sight blade and the firingpin
2. First Question is how to take down the bolt so I can check the firingpin and then where would I get the parts I need if in fact the firingpin is missing?
3. Inquiring minds want to know;)

1. Here is a list of places to buy Carcano parts, among other Carcano related items.

2. Leave the bolt in the gun. Pull the bolt handle up and cock the bolt. Begin unscrewing the ring at the back of the cocking piece by depressing the detent and twisting counterclockwise. Completely remove the ring. Then turn the safety left and ease it out, as it will launch the cocking piece if you just let it fly. Remove cocking piece. Now take the whole bolt out, turn it upside down, and look at the detent that the the safety/firing pin retainer is in. Push the safety in and turn it left (counterclockwise) until the safety/firing pin combo come out freely.
After you've done it once, you'll find it is the most hassle and tool free bolt disassemblies around.

1. Thanks for the info. I took the bolt apart but there is no pin on the end of the plunger. Looks like I'll be ordering a new firingpin.:(

I believe Springfield Sposters is selling Carcano complete bolts for $10.
Check their latest ad in Shotgun News.

1. Ordered a complete bolt and three cleaning rods from Numrich this morning. I am assuming that the bolts are interchangable between the varients of the 91's. If not let me know.

Yes, I switch my bolts out all the time. I just chamber a round with the cocking piece detached and move the bolt handle back and forth to see if there is any play. A poor mans headspace check lol, but all reports are that Carcanos rarely ever have headspace problems.
To be correct, all long rifles should have a straight bolt handle, while all carbines and short rifles should have bent bolt handles.

1. Your a wealth of info on these Italians. Now all I need is a sight blade for the front. They didnt have any at Numrich.

I hear Mauser front sights will work on a Carcano, though they are taller.

1. I will try that. Of course I just got a 38 rifle for the bayo lug and extra bolt. Perhaps the sight will work as well!:p
