I live in CA and by the end of the year all my guns will become assault rifles in CA and in Ca when a rifle becomes an assault rifles you can not sell or give to any person who lives in CA. I would like to know if I can give a rifle to my son before the ban in jan 2000 my son is only 6 years old I would like him to have a few of my rifles when he grows up because by that time every thing will be banned.....

If I was there I would be stocking up on ammo, don't give up your guns.

NOPE sorry you cant give that gun to your kid cuz of his age if he was 18 you could register it under his name and he could keep it and when you will be the registered owner after 2000 and must keep it till you die and then it goes to the cops or if you take it our of the state or sell it to a AW dealer or if the cops come knocking and relieve you of your possession which in 3 1/2 more years of davis i expect that to happen so i guess your kid is out of luck
now hes just like the rest of US

LA Gunman is right. While family members can jointly register assault weapons in California, they must be at least 18 years old according to the law. Sorry. Maybe by the time your son is old enough, either California's ridiculous laws will have been ruled unConstitutional or he'll have the sense to move out of this state. Good Luck. Albert

I would just "get your door Kicked in" and say someone stole all your weapons, give it to your son one day when he is older. The Government is pathetic, I mean regulating weather or not you could pass on your rifles to your kin, that is bullshit, almost evil or something. Does this also mean you can not let your kid use a gun until he's 18, this is really sick almost a perversion of American society. I could not imagine what life would be like without fathers teaching sons how to shoot and hunt. I honestly don't think I would want to live in that kind of society. It sounds like socialism or communism.

If it was me, I would send it to a relative or friend in another state to hold until my son came of age.

BTW,making a false police report is illegal.

Dumping tea into a harbor is illegal, too.

Put $100 in a good mutual fund each year and in 12 years the kid will have enough for at least two AK-47s, assuming he wants one by then. Even if prices inflate like crazy. He could probably get a full-auto AK!

If they're illegal in all the states, well, not having enough cash is the least of our problems. But there will always be a black market.

On a side note on what will become "Assualt Wepons" in PRK after 1-1-2000. I have a British .303 #1 Mk.III* made in 1926, and because it has a detachable mag, it will become an assualt wepon, talk about rediculas.

I agree just give it to your son anyway, fuck all these treasonistic gun laws. One day we will all either have taken the country back or died trying.

You guys are talking about these laws like they are OK! I mean, I know you don't like them but you are going over points and details and have FULLY SURRENDERED to them!

Damn it! Where is your heart in this thing?
Follow your heart, if it leads you to death, you die the winner!
DON'T SURRENDER, DON'T MOVE OUT, keep your rights intact or one day soon, you and your children will only be subjects to herded like cattle. You will betray your forefathers and your sons and daughters.

We are not the slaves of the Gov't!!

I know I am very new here, please forgive me for stepping out like this. I've been here two days and I've seen enough weakness to make my blood boil.

We should be coming together to defeat what is evil, not acting like we'll have to just live with it, when burning in our hearts is the knowledge that something must be done.
Follow your heart!

Aye, fight and you may die, run and you'll live. At least a while. And dying in your beds many years from now, would you be willing to trade all the days from this day to that for one chance, just one chance to come back here and tell our enemies that they may take our lives, but they'll never take our freedom?!

Sorry to hear all the problems that everyone from Kalifornia are having.

When my son was five I gave him a Pre-Ban Poly-Tech and I did the same for my daughter when she was six.

I just noted this in my will and it is a legal contract.

Fight hard and if you can move to "The Great State of Nevada"

Take care, OUT in Vegas!
