1. Both of the ones I purchased are ROMA stamps with one having a 917 number along with a crown cartouche. Anybody know anything about this arsenal stamp?:confused:

They started life as Model 1891 Long Rifles produced in Rome, Italy in 1917 (at least one did).
Here's the webpage that mentions manufacturers, but doesn't give a whole lot of details on Roma (Rome).

I can't even keep up with how many gun's you buy neilwest, let alone arsenal stamps.However the great thing about this is we all learn about these rifles that nobody else hears about.:cool:
