Hello,

Thank you for your email.

As noted in our advertising terms and conditions, Google reserves the
right to exercise editorial discretion when it comes to the advertising we
accept on our site. At this time, we do not allow ads for websites that
sell guns or related products.

Google believes strongly in freedom of expression and therefore offers
broad access to content across the web without censoring results. Please
note that the decisions we make concerning advertising in no way affect
the search results we deliver. We will continue to show search results for
guns and related products.

Please feel free to email us at adwords-support@google.com if you have
additional questions or concerns.

Thanks again for your message. We look forward to providing you with the
most effective advertising available.

That sucks but on the other side of the coin, while I don' think anyone here would want a anti-gun bumper sticker, I recal from that 'should I flush this book' post that a lot of you are too against censorship, even of the opposing view.

Who looks at banner ads anyway?

For SangRun Hunter:

Interesting, I use google a lot to find different web sites. Often, if it is some political group (CATO, Heritage) they have a little descriptor saying such an organization is ultra-conservative, right-wing, and so forth. I wonder if they use the same labels for left wing groups. In fact, I think I'll try a little experiment this week. I'll punch in the names of, say five or six conservative groups, and see if they have a label. Then, I'll punch in the names of a bunch of leftwing groups and see if they use labels for them as well.
