Is it legal to modify the buttstock to be able to detach on an AK w/ a USAK kit installed

Just off hand I'd say not because it would be converting it to pistol form which we know is illegal. Just my opinion and hope it's wrong if you want to do that.

It would be legal to do as long as you have a US parts kit on the gun and keep the total imported parts less than 10 right????

Yes and if you have your less than ten parts you can also convert it to select fire along with chopping the barrel down to 9 inches along with installing a bayonet and flash suppressor. No! The ten or less dealy is only for installing a pistol grip not making a pistol.

I believe that it is perfectly legal to put on a detachable stock as long as you have the US parts in the gun so it is considered an American made post ban gun. A perfect example of this is the post ban Professional Ordinance Carbon 15 Rifle that has a factory quick detachable stock. Perfectly legal. So you can legally detach the stock but you cant legally fold it. HOW STUPID!!!
