Has anyone run into any legal "road blocks" or "special restrictions" while installing a USA parts kit here in CA? So far I can't find any problems but in this state you never know!
Thanks

fuck Kalifornia, they should have the same gun laws as the rest of yet they think that they are communist or something, exempt from federal laws so they start thier own. CaLL K-vAR or Kalifornia and ask about the US kits.

Gun Plumber,

I installed a post-ban US parts kit on my ROMAK.. i'm stuck here in California. Did some research, didn't find any laws that would prohibit this, so I went at it. I'd say as long as you abide by the fed 10 part rule, you're ok.

Turbinator or anyone,

What is the fed 10 parts rule? How can I legally install the pistol grip on my Hungarian KBI SA85M?

Thanks Turbinator,
I've E-mailed and written the Department of Justice and got a wishy-washy written responce. They did not say It was illegle but would not come right out and say is was legal ether! I also talked to the people at ACE (there here in CA also). They said people from the Department of Justice have bought their kits at gun shows and were trying to find someway around the 10 US parts law but so far have had no luck. I have a kit from SoupBowl on order and feel pretty safe now.

Young Gun,
To legally install a pistol grip on your KBI you must install a USA parts kit with 6 USA made parts. By doing this it keeps your KBI at no more then 10 imported parts. Check out the info on the home page of this site under USA parts kits. I know it sounds silly but it's the law?

I posted a topic called "The ten or Less Rule" about two months ago in the General Discussian thread or Gun Control, just go back and look it up it has what is considered imported on an AK and what US upgrades you can buy for the AK.

What if the Stock kit is not Amercian made? Do I need to replace more parts with US made one to be compliant??

You have to keep the weapon at the "10 imported parts or less" configuration no matter what!
