M39 Bayo pics

These are the new repros from I/O. They are on sale this month for $29.95 ($10 off). Pretty nice to have, kind of steep but one is nice to have with an unissued M39. The originals would run a couple hundred dollars if you can find one.

Sorry for the whine guys- the quality is worth even the $65 Shuetz paid, I was just thinking it would be too much to get them for all four of my M39's.

Are they marked Sk.Y?

Were the originals blue?

I have Lapin's book, but he doesn't mention the Sk.Ys being blue and I believe Century says something like "so close original we had to blue them."

A guy at a gun show swore that the one he had (blue, Sk.Y marked) was original. I was skeptical, but didn't really know. I didn't even bother to ask him how much he wanted.

Yes, they are marked SkY and they were blued to prevent people from claiming they were original, that didn't work I guess! The originals were not blued.
