I got mine today too. How's the bore on yours? Mine is smoooooth. Other than that, it's perfect. Do you have a pic of the other side? Mine has CORDOBA stamped on the slide, under Policia De La Capital. Any Ideas As to it's meaning?

1. You didnt get cheated there are two kinds of Molinas. The Police issue which has markings on the right side and the commercial which did not. but you still should have the Cordoba stamp. It was probubly ground down during rearsenaling.

2. These are actually beautiful guns for the price. Well worth the money for either one. Both my SOGS were smooth on the right side but my reworked Molina from Century had all the markings.

I think I might change out the grips.it might be just me but they don't feel right. I can put 1911 grips on it right?

I tried to take some photos of it, but my digital camera is crap. I took some with my wife's nikon. When she gets her film developed, I'll scan them and post them here.

I didn't pay a handpicked fee. I guess I just got lucky. We'll see how long my luck holds out. I might have to send it back due to the smooth bore. I hope they let me send just the barrel back, but I'm not holding my breath. Is it likely that they will? I have never dealt with them before, so I don't know. If I have to send the whole thing back, do you think I could request to have the same one sent to me, with a new barrel, of course. I hope, I hope. I like this pistol.

ive dealt with them before and they work with you. I bought a sks from them and it had a really pitted piston and a few other pieces messed up on it and they sent me the parts to fix it.I have to give them credit on that. but the thing I don't like on what they do is charge you 2% for using a C.C.. what a joke:mad:
I hope it works out ok for you. if you don't send it back I think you can get a 1911 barrel and it will work. at least that's what I think.

I hear that only the barrel and magazine are interchangable with Colts.:(

I've heard the same thing about the 1911 barrel. I'm too scared to price them out right now. My wife is being VERY cool about this gun. She usually isn't too thrilled about new weapons coming into the house. I'm going to try not to push my luck.

I'm glad to hear that they are flexable. My sphinctor constricts  whenever I think about having to send this pistol back and take a chance on a new one. BTW, yours looks great too. Did they grind the Policia De La Capital off the slide when they refinished it or something? Oh well, it won't effect the accuracy.

Happy shooting.

Nice weapon w2k! Glad you got one with the markings intact. My left side was buffed out but the right side still has the Policia Federal marking.

Livtoshoot- I'd say Policia de Capital, is for the capital of Argentina which would be what-- Buenos Aires?? (yeah I know I got that spelled wrong) So thats a Buenos Aires police pistola. Cool.

Cool. Thanks for the insight. Do you have any about the CORDOBA stamping right under it?

How is the trigger on yours? I have heard some of them have terrible trigger pulls. Mine is silky smooth and light. A million times better than my gay-ass Sigma. I hate that piece of shit.

Pull is smooth on mine. Did you call about your barrel yet?
Don't know about the marking...

Called about the barrel this morning. The lady said that they don't typically ship parts, and that i would have to send the entire thing back. I told her about the markings and that I would like to hold on to it. She told me that she would look into getting a new barrel and give me a call. She said it may take a few days. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

These are not interchangabel with colts, The Systema is but not the Ballisters. I agree with Whos2Know the grips do feel funky. Thats why on the Century one I refurbished I didnt feel bad about sanding them smooth.

3. There is a link here somewhere that sells combat type rubber grips for $12.00. If I remember what it was I will post it.

Here is the site for the grips....

Consequently, while the completed HAFDASA design bore a strong external similarity to the Colt M1911A1, only the barrel and magazine are interchangeable with the Colt pistol. Note: Barrels and magazines made by HAFDASA are identifiable by the marking "HA" inside a diamond. The following is a list of differnces between the HAFDASA pistol and the M1911A1:

Speaking of barrels.....

SOG called me at work today. The customer service rep. told me to ship my barrel back and they would send me a "new" one. I hope this one is good.

I did a little research on the CORDOBA marking on my slide. All I could find out was.....

Cordoba is the second largest city in Argentina, and that it is almost 400 miles NW of Buenos Aires. As RedStar has pointed out, the "Policia de la Capital" stamp means that it belonged to the Buenos Aires PD, I'd imagine that somewhere along the line this pistol found it's way into the hands of the Cordoba PD. Just my guess.

I'm just glad I don't have to send the entire pistola back.

Anybody ever seen GENARMERIAC NATCIONAL on the right side. Mine has this on it. From what I've read in past the SN dates pistol around 1944
(#23XXX).

What is the going rate for above pic's pistols they look great.

Mine has Gendarmeria Nacional on the right side too. I got it from Century 2 months ago. I reblued mine since it was cosmetically challenged, but works fine and is tight as a new gun. It looks great now. I took some advice from this forum and used the reblueing PASTE from Birchwood-Casey and it came out great. I submertged the upper slide in liquid perma blue and it worked good too.

I just got a BM from SOG as well, beautiful pistol!! I would post a pic, but can't figure out how to do it (I can't see the browse button as specified!).

VERY nice, but I do have a question.... Is the feed ramp supposed to be blued? I may have to polish it (I don't have a dremel, just elbow grease, how do I do it?), as I tried three different mags and (even though I did not fire, but just cycled the rounds through) may have feeding issues....

Any help is GREATLY appreciated!!

Thanks,

Chichi

BTW, mine is Policia Federal (Federal Police). Markings are pretty good, but left side was polished a bit hard and faded out some of the information...

Actually, I have not tested yet, but I think it is the mags... got a couple more, and one seems to feed pretty well, but I don't like cycling rounds through it at home, would much rather test at the range (safety first!!). I may get a chance to test this weekend... I'll update..
