Can you reload .410 shells? I'd love to reload them for my singleshot Snakecharmer II. Rock salt, etc.

I would imagine that it is possible to reload .410 shotshells, but I have reloaded 12 and 20 gauge shotshells in the past and my experience has been that the smaller diameter of the 20 gauge makes it more diffcult to get a good crimp. I would think that a good crimp on something as small as a .410 would be very difficult. If you could master crimping them, you should be able to save a lot of cash since there can't be much in the way of powder and shot in a .410 hull and they typically sell for a premium over 12 and 20 at the store. Maybe someone else here has direct experience.

Yes you can reload 410, especially a whole lot cheaper than new. Your initial expense would be the MEC-600 press, inexpensive and easy to operate. Primers usually cost $20 per 1000, shot is now probably $20????? for 25 pound bag, use H110 or Win 296 powder, $18 per pound, wads are dirt cheap, usually 250 or 500 count bag. Buy a scale to check your powder weight, and proper charge bar for shot weight for 410 load. You will have to pick up on some new hulls once in a while.
