I pulled the butt plate off and on it is a large DK. Any ideas?

No but I'll bet she's against them except for the one she probably has a license for because she's special and smarter than the regular populace

My 38 Turk has DK stamped on it also

Wild guess but It must be some sort of proof mark.

Here is a site of German alphabetic proof marks for codes "c" thru "e": http://www.radix.net/~bbrown/codes_full_alpha_c-e.html

I found "dkk" - Friedrich Offermann u. Soehne, Lederwarenfabrik, Bensberg

Very Interesting. So you think perhaps these are reused butt plates? It makes sense

Reused buttplate . . . most certainly. The Turks rebuilt and reused about everything they ever bought from Mauser Werks. They always wanted to go with updated rilfes and reworked the older versions that they had in inventory.
