It's quite a undertaking to go into production of a new buffer, a master has to be made, then a die or mold made, then the beta testing, web site updates, etc., etc.
The AK buffers were easy to make, these other ones are going to be a bit more challanging.
I sort of have a feeling it's going to be the FAL but I'll wait and see how the poll turns out.

a manufacturer that actually wants to know what his customers want? Thats a pretty radical concept in America these days! Keep up the good work! I say go for the SKS They need it!:D

Your suggestions are always welcome. It wouldn't be worth the effort to sell something where there's not much demand for. If any of you are presently using buffers that are contributing to problems, if you will share how you think they could be made better I'm listening.

I'll run this poll for 30 days, which ever is the favorite is the one I'll produce next.

Why not just put in that mercury recoil compressor?
I had one in mine and it was tits.
Couldn't tell the temperature with it though.
BLACKJACK:
Whatever you choose, be sure to paint it black and call it "tactical". If you call it a "High Capacity Tactical Buffer" that should account for 70 percent of your buyers right there. ;)

Hopefully the day will come when you can provide all!!
But understanding what an undertaking it is to start up, I vote for the FAL as well.

:jump: with all the HK & CETME & FAL clones out there, a good inexpensive buffer, would be.....well...a $ cow.....WAITING to be milked.

I do have the option of making this new buffer what ever color I choose, I'm open to color suggestions also. I don't feel like starting another poll for colors but if one of you want to do that that would be cool. Those of you that have helped me put this together will be the ones I let do the testing when that time comes. ;)

I voted for FAL....but since I might get a HK/G3 later.......maybe will need that too. ;) Color's not important...just whatever material will last longer, or cushion better....kinda like your red vs. blue AK buffers. I do prefer a darker color so it doesnt look too awkward in a military rifle. :D

These new buffers probably will be pour molded and if so it will be between the blue and the red as far as the durometer(hardness) of the material. I can have what ever colorant added I choose, I would like to see a darker color or even black as long as people don't mistake it for being rubber. The color really doesn't matter to me but it does to a lot of people, that's why I'm asking.

If any of you choose the sks buffer also state whether you would want receiver cover type or the H type.

Why WRECK perfectly good firearms with a little piece of rubber. I have NEVER EVER seen one of these firearms break because they lacked one, BUT I have seen MANY jam with them in.
These things are too much like "snake-oil" for my likeing".

Well, it apears that the sks has maintained a slight lead. For all you that voted for the sks...
I finished the h style and receiver cover style buffer prototype today and should have some samples available for testing within 2 weeks. I will need some volunteers for testing that will provide me feedback and performance data, needless to say you will get to keep the test buffers. I am looking for 5 testers, please e-mail me if you would like to participate.
For those of you that voted for the FAL...
I started working on it today, maybe will have something to start testing in 4-6 weeks.

When you do decide I still think the Olive Drab color would be best. Why because know one has done that color like that and it would look good and not stand out in the receiver. BF just has the clear and gray. Or try your prototypes to see what looks best. :D

I have decided to make all my future buffers a dark/military green.
These first few test run buffers that are produced will be what ever color urethane was mixed up, most likely a greenish blue.

I thought like that myself and agree that they will not ever break beause of the wear.
But I was not " issued " my AK's. I spent good hard earned money on my VEPR's and Arsenal Classic and I want these to stay as nice as the day I pulled them out of their boxes.
After the first outing with my Classic I noticed during cleaning that there was some finish worn (beat) off of the back of the receiver from just 120 rounds.
I have had ZERO malfunctions with the Blackjack buffers and if I did have, I just wouldn't use them. Since they do work well for my guns I will keep on using them, in fact I need 3 more and am about to shoot off a money order for them today.
In my case, they are working and doing what I want them to do.
As far as color goes, I like black or dark grey only because it matches most of the internals of my AK's. I also would like to see the price stay the same.
