Question from a newbie. Is the Argentine Ballester Molina (sp?) considered a C&R? Is the $209.00 price for an arsenal refinished from SOG a decent price?
Thanks
Joe

Welcome to the board!
Yes it is a C&R and yes, for a .45 auto it is a very reasonable price. There's pics of recent arrivals that our members ordered in the 1911 forum.

Alot of threads on these pistols in the general weapons discussion too. Here's one with a real good picture:

And, not only is it a good deal money-wise, but an extremely accurate badass gun. It's extremely accurate and just looks great. I got mine from SOG and strongly recommend you get one.
I've seen the pics from the guys who got them from other dealers, but mine is prettier. The barrel and all parts are just sweet. ;)

... you just won't regret it.
Also, I needed to add that mine, at least, seems to eat up 230g RN just fine. I did a 200 grain SWC run very well too; 200 rounds or so. That's reloading.
When I first got the gun, I purchased ammo at Wally World. I found that 200+ bulletweight works best for this particular weapon.
:rockin: I've shot 600 rounds or so through mine since it got it - 500 of those homeloaded ammo.
In my humble opinion, it's a great buy and an excellent addition to anyone's collection.

1. The SOG Ballister Molina is in the middle. The other two are Century Ballister Riguards. Ive since placed new grips on them and they now look as good as the Molina.

What's the difference between the Ballester Rigaud and the Ballester Molina? Is the Rigaud just an earlier model of the same handgun? Got my C&R last week, time to do some shopping.
