On page 7 of Guide Technique there is a picture of a 49-56 with a pistol grip stock where can I get one of these stocks ( i do not read french so I do not know if this set up is a one of a kind or what) :confused:

I have seen them, but I don't think any were imported.

You're looking at a picture of a MAS 49/56 M-SE. That's a competition rifle the French made up in the early 1970's. It's based on the stock setup on the FR-F1, bolt action sniper rifle. Don't know where you could find a buttstock/pistol grip here in the states. You could recut the existing stock and sort of meld in another pistol grip. Maybe one of the Chinese AK wooden grips could be used. I'll ask around though and see what I can come up with.


I thought about this during the night. Adding a pistol grip to a rifle that already has a detachable mag, even though it's 10rd could be in violation of the current assault weapons law. I believe the grenade launcher is also a flash hider, at least in the eyes of the law. Until I get more info I would temper my above statement about adding a PG with this "Check all applicable local, state and federal laws before making any alterations". This would most likely alter the C&R status of the firearm as well.
